About The Company

CrystalFire Software is a small software development company in Philomath, Oregon. It consists of Christopher Kempke, Software Developer, and his wife Lisa Kempke, Accountant.

We may be small, but we're also tiny.

Christopher Kempke has been producing software under the CrystalFire Software name since 1990. His first product, which allowed users of Mac System 6 to create something like the "alias" files of System 7, was apparently a critical success with at least three users; at least that's all the mail he ever got.

A larger success is CroPL, a cross-platform library used to develop software, which has been maintained and developed since 1996.

The company was formally created (as CrystalFire Software, LLC) in 2003, and now provides cross-platform Macintosh and Windows software.

Christopher Kempke, President, CEO, Software Developer, Tech Support With almost twenty years of desktop software development (resume) under his belt, Christopher Kempke is rather large. By day, he's a mild mannered software developer for Hewlett Packard. By night, he's the developer for CrystalFire Software. In his career he has taught computer programmers, written about computer programming, led and managed computer programmers, studied the habits of the elusive wild computer programmer, and with what time remains...well, programmed computers. His skills with a C++ compiler are legendary, his skills with art tools...infamous.

Christopher Kempke has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University, a B.A. in Computer Science from Carleton College, and a history of antisocial behaviour. He also pretentiously puts the "u" in the word "behaviour."

He worked for eight years at MultiAd, formerly Multi-Ad Services, Inc., on the MultiAd Creator family of software. He's also done consulting work for a variety of companies, taught computer programming as both a Graduate Student and as a part-time Instructor at Minneapolis Technical College.

Lisa Kempke, CFO, Accounting Department A Registered Nurse by trade, Lisa is also trained in accounting, and hence handles the financial side of things here at the CrystalFire Software megacomplex. She owns two cats, and hangs around with the CEO.
